There’s nothing like a patch of sun on the living room floor … or at least that’s what Jeter thinks!

Same day, different spot …

Stretch!

Meanwhile, Posey was hanging out on the stairs.

And Little Guy, a friendly stray, stopped by for a visit.

Changing the subject … my hydrangeas are in full bloom!

When I was doing some yard work last weekend, I noticed the sunlight hitting the flowers. I had to take a break and snap some photos!

We grilled and ate outside, and had some dinner guests. They were hoping for some leftover tuna!
Meadow is a stray that has lived in our yard since we bought our house almost nine years ago. We had her spayed and continue to feed her.

Little Guy started showing up close to a year ago. He’s really friendly so at first we suspected he was lost, but he’s still here pretty regularly.

It’s not unusual to walk into the kitchen on a sunny afternoon and find a cat sprawled out across the floor. Unfortunately, Jeter wasn’t in much of a modeling mood the other day and this is all I got before he moved.

I do, however, have some shots from a few weeks ago that I didn’t download until now.

These photos have very little to do with the new year, but that seemed to be an appropriate title for this week.
OK, I guess I can throw one NYE-themed shot in here. Not great since it’s from my phone at night, but I snapped this one on the way out of the church on New Year’s Eve — a small group from our chorus spent the night singing as part of the New Year’s Annapolis entertainment.
From the car on the drive back from Rochester. I was the passenger!
Heading out one night this week, I was glad my point-and-shoot was in my purse!
And finally, I spent a lazy New Year’s Day morning (uh, afternoon) with a couple of my friends.
I’ve got a short break from singing for now, but work is still keeping me on my toes with a big project due this week. And then I’ll be off to Disney World to run my races! It’s been a crazy end/start to the year. I’ve had to abandon my blog reader for a while now, I miss you guys; I hope to have more blog time soon!

The holiday season is so busy every year. I’ve been singing every day (and am about to head out for another quick caroling appearance) and still managing to get in most of my marathon training runs.
All of this week’s photos were taken with my new Droid Eris phone. Glad the camera’s a lot better than my old Blackberry!

While I was out running Saturday morning, the rain turned to snow. Brr! It didn’t amount to much and is mostly gone by now. It was pretty, but I was busy all day and didn’t get a chance to take many shots.
These were taken when it just started sticking.
It looked like he was using his tail as a hat!

Poor kitty!
The kitty is Meadow, a stray that lives in our yard. We wish we could bring her in on days like that. At least we have a lot of decks she can huddle under!

(I’ve been slacking on visiting my fellow participants lately. I still owe some of you visits from last week. Too busy lately, but I’ll come by when I can!)

Jeter cat was lazy this week.
And apparently, so was I. That’s about it for ‘Winners’ photos this week!

Last year, I shot some of my favorite photos at Downs Park when I was there for a five-mile race.
I was back again yesterday for this year’s race. Well, it seems last year it took place before the time change. I’m sure I wasn’t there two hours early! I only brought my point-and-shoot this year, anyway.
I didn’t have too many photos that I loved this time around, but it still always nice to run through this park.
My running schedule had us doing nine miles yesterday, so we did a two-mile warm up, ran the race, and did a two-mile cool down. It worked out well!
When I got home I found Jeter sunning himself in an unusual position.
Though it’s not all that unusual for him. He really likes soda!

I hope everybody had a good Halloween! I dressed up last week. I just wore a Halloween shirt from last Sunday’s 5K yesterday as I handed out candy.
But Joey decided he wanted a costume!
I promise it wasn’t torture. He was purring the whole time!
Jeter would have none of that.
