it’s monday

And it certainly feels like a Monday. Hoops and Yoyo say it best.

I am a web developer for a software company. The main part of my job is to post websites that plug into our core application.

Found out today I need to set up an “emergency” site for a demo on Wednesday. At least I have until the *end* of the day tomorrow. I can’t exactly drop everything today since I am also working with our developers to add a new module, that needs to be done today.

At least my co-workers are picking me up some sushi for lunch …

christmas, part 1

We had to open the gifts from my mother-in-law, since we didn’t want to have to check a suitcase. Airline security probably wouldn’t like it if we didn’t know what was in our bags.

We’ll still have some stuff coming from her later — as this was just the ‘stocking stuffers,’ though, all this stuff wouldn’t actually have fit in my stocking! Things like PJs, bath and body stuff (most of which exceeds the 3oz limit and will have to be mailed), chocolate, socks and underwear (is that appropriate?) …

Since we’re here, we went shopping and bought some early gifts for MIL and Grandma as well, so at least we won’t have to worry about that later!

Only a few weeks until Christmas Concert season, where I’ll be performing for nearly three weeks straight …

i got the wrong bags

My bag was searched at the airport because they thought my candles were jelly.

And I was instructed that my tiny bottles of saline and lotion, etc. need to be stored in one-quart zipper bags, not one-gallon. (oops!)

She let me off with a warning to use the right size next time! Mom-in-law had the right size bags so I’m good for the trip home tomorrow …

ziplock bags seem extravagant

Maybe it’s because I grew up only having fold-over sandwich bags, but ziplock bags seem fancy to me.

I’ve only recently broken down and started buying them — their usefulness completely makes up for the extra 50 cents or whatever per box!

I’m taking a flight this afternoon for the first time since the new restrictions, and I’m going to have to go out and buy one-gallon sized zipper bags to put all of my liquid and semi-liquid carry-on items.

I figured any size ziplock would do, but a friend of mine said they don’t allow sandwich bags.

How does that make any sense? I’m only allowed 3-oz bottles. They fit in sandwich bags!
