I had a change of scenery last week. We were on vacation! In Jamaica!
I’ve only been home a few hours, but I couldn’t wait to start going through my photos. As usual, I couldn’t resist the beautiful sunsets and palm trees. It was hard to narrow it down, but here are some of my favorites. (See more photos over here. I’ll probably be adding to this set.)

It’s been one crazy week. I barely touched my camera. This is pretty much all I got:
Well I also captured this little song-and-dance number featuring Joey as the cat, and my husband as singer, composer, and puppetmaster:
No cats were harmed or traumatized in the making of this week’s Weekly Winners.
Next week should be a good one. Stay tuned! In the meantime, visit more Weekly Winners at SarcasticMom.com.
There are tons of flowering trees near both my home and office, which are beautiful right now. I know it won’t last too much longer, and it’s been killing me that I haven’t really have any opportunities to go snap some photos.
So I was thrilled when I was able to go on a good long walk yesterday. Normally I run on Saturdays, but I had a 10-mile race this morning (No, I did not do the Cherry Blossom run in DC today, but my running club’s version, the Cherry Pit!)
Some of my friends were meeting after their run yesterday to surprise one of the women with a little birthday celebration for her 40th that’s coming up this week. They were meeting in town, about two miles from my house. The sun was shining, and I decided to walk. It was a little cool and breezy, but I just bundled up and went on my way!
The headwaters of Spa Creek form a little fork around my neighborhood, with two small footbridges to cross it. Ultimately, this creek will go into town, and just around the corner it’s deep enough that houses can have private docks.
There’s been a lot of rain lately. These ducks took advantage of a new swimming hole in what usually is a field.
And now, here’s what I was really out there for. The flowers.

Anybody who’s been here before knows I’m a cat person. My kitties are my babies. While I only have one of them in my ‘Winners’ this week, he’ll serve as a good example.
I had the opportunity to meet a couple of, um, unusual dogs last night. They belong to my brother and sister-in-law’s neighbors.
I declare cats the winner.
