Last week I planted some flowers and veggies in pots on my front porch. My yard is pretty shaded, but we get a lot of sun in the front. I had a couple tomato plants in my porch garden last year that did quite well. A little too well, actually, so I’m only growing one tomato plant this year. I’ve also planted cucumber and bell pepper.
The tomato and cucumber plants are still small, so not much to photograph. But I started with a larger pepper plant. It looks like we’ve already got one growing!
And for a little color, I added some flowers.
Out back, the hydrangeas are getting ready to bloom. We’re going to have a lot of flowers soon!
And finally, not in my garden but fitting my floral theme, check out my cute new shoes!

Running Update: I just got home from my ninth half marathon — the Zooma Half Marathon. I wasn’t expecting anything great since it’s pretty hilly, and it was raining for the first five or six miles …
But I got a new half marathon PR! 2:07:43 … my previous best goes all the way back to 2005, at 2:13:11. Wow. I feel great! I guess that speed training is working!
