little stinker

Last year, I wrote about how Jeter cat likes to cause a ruckus in the mornings, usually on weekends when we try to sleep in.

Sure, I can feed him and go back to sleep, but it’s nice to stay snug in bed!

Lately, he’s been poking around before I get up to run on Saturdays. It is always still earlier than his normal breakfast time.

And sometimes, he gets into trouble during the week. A week or so ago, I was awake, already in the shower. My husband was trying to catch a few more minutes of sleep.

When I got out of the shower, this is what I found:

jeter caught red handed

The hair bands came out of this basket, where he would have had to dig for them. I try to hide them under things to prevent the above from happening, but obviously the only solution is to stop putting them in the basket.

Of course, then he’ll figure out a new way to be a nuisance!

on vacation …

No, not me.

My boss is in Jamaica this week, which means people will be bothering me in his absence. At least it’s a short week.

But I have booked a beach house for our summer vacation!

I think this summer will be our 10th trip down to Hatteras Island. We’re going at the end of July. I found a house that looks fantastic … it’s always best to book early before the good ones are gone. Here are some highlights from last year, and one of my favorite pictures from our 2006 trip.

I’m also starting to plan a spring vacation to a Caribbean destination. It’s looking like the best time to go is in April, so I’ve got to get moving!

Ah, I’ve done last-minute deals plenty of times. I know we’ll figure something out!

i can’t believe this is my first post since the last weekly winners

This week just got away from me!

We’ve got cats (as usual) and a few other random shots this week for Lotus‘ Weekly Winners.

Probably a weed … possibly really stubborn flowers! Found in one of my planters.

I looked into the kitchen, and three cats were staring at me! Meadow (the stray that lives in our yard) is often found peeking in the window. She and Posey like to play through the glass.

sharing the love

OMSH is having a contest. I can’t resist a contest!

The rules are to spread the love by writing about some of my favorite bloggers. This is a lot less embarrassing than making goofy faces!

Of course, the aforementioned OMSH is on my must-read list. I currently have 120 feeds in my reader … Yikes! I’m sorry I can’t include you all!

I think Cecily is my first blog friend. She’s all the way in Australia, and writes about her day-to-day live beautifully.

Aimee is another blogger I’ve “known” for a while. I found her during American Idol last year where I became hooked on her weekly critique, and I’ve been around ever since.

I began posting photos of myself because of Susan — her Flickr wardrobe pool got me out of my shell, and NoBloShoeMo furthered the Flickr obsession.

Because of said Flickr obsession, I’ve met lots of other lovely people, including She Likes Purple and SLynnRo … I’m now also following their lives in blogs and photos!

And, I’ve really got to end this list, but I have to mention Sarcastic Mom (and all her Weekly Winners participants), who have me taking and posting a lot more photos.

Thanks to them, and the rest of you who have made it a lot easier to pretend I’m working. I promise someday I’ll actually publish my blogroll and return the love to the rest of you!
