The first thing I thought of when I saw that today’s Photo Hunt theme were the pointed spikes on my “baby” cactus.
Yes, if you look closely, you can see dust on the spikes. How do you dust a cactus?
Even though this little guy is only a couple inches tall, it is hardly a baby. We bought a cactus seed kit on a family vacation to Arizona or New Mexico. When I was 10.
This tiny thing is 23 years old!
It has started growing better ever since I moved it from a small terracotta pot to a glazed ceramic one, but it’s still very small.

Lovely photos of your cactus. And such a great idea for pointed!
Very creative idea for the theme. Great shots. Have a good weekend!
Excellent shot! Wow… 23 years old… that’s incredible in itself.
ouch I agree they are such interesting plants
Can’t get much more pointy than that! Bravo! Shot with beautiful light, too!
Cheers, Klaus
What a gorgeous plant! I love the way that the new growth is so clearly obvious
Wow! 23 years old? I’m not good with plants. I’m lucky if they last a year or two.
Thanks for visiting!
hi! those are cute hehe, happy sunday! 😉
Perfect for the theme! And impressive that you’ve had it for 23 years!
Ouch!
23 years old! Wow, it’s holding up pretty well. (And I have no idea how to dust a cactus, either. Maybe with a mighty blast of air?)
Wow! 23 yrs? That is amazing 🙂 Love those shots.
