In 2007, I was somewhat successful meeting my goals. I did not do very well in 2008.
If you follow the link above, you’ll see my resolutions for 2008 were as follows:
- Finish the kitchen cabinet project. FAIL
I have been stripping / repainting the kitchen cabinets since 2002. In 2008, I did not even lift a paintbrush. - Design my home. SOME PROGRESS
I said I wanted to paint to the still-white walls, add art and get rid of temporary furniture. I had a burst of momentum in January ’08 when I painted a wall in the kitchen. But most of our walls are still white. No new art. But I did get new furniture for the kitchen! - Run a triathlon. SUCCESS!
Race report - Stay on top of my time and billing at work. FAIL
We’re getting ready to switch to a new system, and I had to make sure I was up-to-date about a month ago. And it took several days to do it. Since then I’ve been updated weekly, but only because I have to for the system conversion. Tomorrow I will have to add my time for the past two weeks. At least there were quite a few days off in there!
What are my resolutions for 2009?
- Finish the kitchen cabinet project
Once again, I have to add this to my list. But there is a complication. I don’t have access to my workshop because first I have to … - Rid the garage of garage-sale leftovers
While we did pretty well in our garage sale in October, we just put the stuff that didn’t sell in the garage. In addition to the old kitchen furniture, there are a couple of small tables, chairs, clothing, shoes and boxes full of who-knows-what. I’ve donated a few things, but I’d like to try to sell the items that have some value. - Clean/Organize my home
This was on my 2007 list as well. I ended 2007 on a high note from my NaBloCleanMo project, but most of the problems have come back. I really need to get a handle on the clutter that is always surrounding me. I need to find a place for everything … because if it doesn’t have a place, how can I put it away? Oh, right, I’m also really bad about putting things away …
Only three items on the list this year … but that last one has been haunting me my whole life. That may never be resolved. But I’d like to try!
