After sorting through the mess:
I dusted the desk surfaces, but didn’t notice until I was downloading the photos that there’s a hand print on the computer. D’oh!
There was mostly just junk in the pile. Like papers, most of which we did not need, dating back as far as April 2004. Terrible. I don’t know how I live like this.
The rest of the office, which you have not seen yet, is still a crap hole. I will hopefully be able to sort that out in the next two weeks!
Sadly, your desk didn’t actually look that bad to me. I’m not sure I’ve actually seen the surface of my desk in some time. But good on the end result. I’m quite sure my own desk was never that uncluttered, even when I bought it.
(I also enjoyed your post title and first line. It triggered a memory for me of a time when we had to find our guest room when we had visitors coming to stay the night.)
By the way, when I said “good on the end result,” I believe I meant something like “good job on the end result.” But you could insert a different word, if you like. “Good panda on the end result.”

The “before” pictures really didn’t capture the magnitude of the mess. It took about an hour and a half to sort through it all!
