I recently began using a prescription nasal spray to help clear out my sinuses. I’ve either got seasonal or year-round allergies that sporadically cause a lot of congestion, and so far it seems to be helping.
After I picked up my prescription, I scanned the information that came in the package detailing possible side effects and usage instructions. It caught my eye that the following warning was listed several times, both on the info sheet printed by the pharmacy, and the instructions included in the medicine box:
Avoid spraying in eyes.
Um, OK. That should be easy enough. It is a NASAL spray. But I guess enough people (or person?) were over-anxious and squirted the trigger too soon?
Today, I noticed another strange warning. I just started using a new lip balm, Avon Moisture Therapy. I was applying some this afternoon and noticed it, too, carries a warning label:
WARNING: Keep out of eyes.
Again, shouldn’t be a problem.
I can kind of understand the nasal spray warning, since you do have to squirt it a few times to get it going.
But who is going to put lip balm in their eyes?
Thanks for the laugh, it was a long day, felt good to laugh out loud. Now that I know to be extra careful not to spray my eyes with nose spray and keep the lip balm on my mouth, I can sleep well. Did the lip balm mention that it was edible? I like a good snack before I go to sleep. Would be a good market for Avon, don’t you think.
You’ve gotta laugh don’t you – are there really people that dumb out there?! Here is an article on the news here recently… fits in the same category I think!
