I have a couple of very large cookies left over from Book Club last night. I was tempted to have one for breakfast. (Oatmeal raisin … that’s breakfast food, right?)
I was able to resist the cookie (despite its protest), after all, cookies are not acceptable breakfast food.
Cake, on the other hand, has occasionally managed to convince me otherwise. After all, there is not much difference between a chocolate layer cake and a powdered doughnut filled with chocolate frosting, right?
So what did I have for breakfast instead of the giant bakery cookie?
Quaker “Breakfast Cookies!”
Yes, of course, these are perfectly acceptable for breakfast, because it says so right on the box! They’re pretty good, kind of like a muffin top.
Too bad they don’t come in chocolate chip.
How can you discuss the merits of dessert for breakfast, without mentioning the finest of breakfasts, pie?
